PHOENIX

from Aria 2011 album "Phoenix"

Music by Vitaly Dubinin
Lyrics by Margarita Pushkina

Into the sea fell the fiery ball,
to the ocean entrusting its dreams.
Stars are not yet, time of darkness is close.
The horizon is wrapped in blue mist.
Voice of the thunder in mountains is lost,
where the lines of ages are drawn.
Time of worries is sunk in the snows.
It's still early ahead of the dawn.
It's still early ahead of the dawn...

Phoenix in nocturnal sky
mimics the comets in space.
Demon or eagle, he keeps
the immortality spells.
Watching below from mystic heights,
doesn't debate with the world.
Who of the men witnessed that flight,
learnt the delight and the joy.

Living to burn, and burning to live
chasing the darkness away.
Time will come, Phoenix will call,
he who was born of the flame.

Time steals of your strength.
Baggage of years overloads.
Knowing all that awaits,
Phoenix returns to the earth.
Feeling the pain, not the anger, he dives
into the flame like a stone.
But he will glare brighter than stars
when into ashes he'll turn.

Living to burn, and burning to live
chasing the darkness away.
Time will come, Phoenix will call,
he who was born of the flame.

The day will come, the bolt will strike.
From lightning a flame will ignite.
The shade will rise, above the fire
the feathers of Phoenix will shine.
Defying death, forgetting pain,
He'll flap his wing after rebirth.
He'll rush above to stir again
the envy and joys of the earth.

Living to burn, and burning to live
chasing the darkness away.
Time will come, Phoenix will call,
he who was born of the flame.
